Online entries

Players may enter by mail or online ( www.sacgolfcouncil.org ). The mail in tournament entry fee is $250.  Deduct $25 if you have qualified at either SGC qualifiers. Online qualifiers must pay the $250 entry and request a $25 reimbursement.

Entry Form, Fee, Deadline, Confirmation/Acceptance & Withdrawal

If entering the SFC is contingent on receiving a Merit Exemption, proceed to the Merit Exemption Request form via the Contacts & Merit Request page. You can file an entry as exempt based on merit only after expressly being granted such an exemption from the Tournament Director, Joe Dahilig at joedahilig@att.net

'To obtain an official men's entry form, click Entry Form and then print the entry form from your printer. You can obtain any State Fair entry form (senior, Junior, etc) via the All State Fair Events in the above menu. Copies of entry forms are accepted.

The entry fee is $250 and must accompany the completed entry form for all exempt players. The qualifier entry fee is a non-refundable $25 with a balance due two weeks after the qualifier of $225 if such entrant qualifies. Once you have a printed entry in hand, complete, sign and mail it to the address provided on the entry with a check payable to the Sacramento Golf Council. Entry fee checks are deposited on the applicable deadline date for all entrants accepted. Consequently, post-dating of entry fee checks to the applicable entry deadline is acceptable. All other entrant checks are destroyed or returned by 9/10.

The entry deadline is SGC "receipt of" by 5PM on August 16th for all exempt entrants and at least one day prior to the start of any elected qualifying site date for all qualifier entrants (postmark irrelevant). All entries received by the entry deadline are subject to acceptance by the TC. The first 84 exempt entries received by the Aug. 23, 2017 deadline are assured a place in the SFC if otherwise accepted by the TC.

All entries received and accepted will be confirmed via email within 1 week of receipt. Entrants without email addresses will receive entry receipt confirmation via the telephone. Once your entry has been accepted and your place in the field is assured, subsequent communications pertaining to the SFC will be via email.

Players withdrawing subsequent to entry must notify the TC promptly as withdrawal refunds after August 23 will not be allowed and thereby forfeited. Promptly notify the TC of withdrawals via telephone at (916) 359-1933 or via email at before August 17, 2017 to joedahilig@att.net . Note: All withdrawals are subject to a 20% administrative fee.

Entry Inclusions

The entry fee for players in the SFC field includes:

  • All green fees for tournament play (3 rounds if making the cut)
  • Practice round green fees on Friday, prior to Saturday the 1st day of the tournament.
  • Player range balls
  • SFC Putting Tournament and Long Drive Contest
  • On course tournament play bottled water
  • Crystal trophy to the Champion & Runner Up
  • Contestant merchandise gifts
  • Merchandise certificates redeemable in the Haggin Oaks Super Shop to any player returning a 54 hole score

Registration

Registration is located in the MacKenzie Grill at Haggin Oaks between 4PM and 7PM on Friday, or prior to their first round inside the MacKenzie Bar & Grille at Haggin Oaks.

Rules

Play will be governed by the Rules of Golf as currently approved by the USGA. See "Carts & Caddies" below for conditions pertaining thereof. The pace of play for all SFC rounds is 4 hours & 40 minutes. The SFC Pace of Play will be strictly enforced in a similar manner as the current procedures enacted by the USGA. Notice to Competitors, Local Rules & Tournament Conditions will be provided via email at close of entries. The Tournament Committee (TC) & Haggin Oaks GC require that all players wear non-metal spikes. Golf shorts of appropriate length are permitted. The TC reserves the right to reject an entry at any time before or after the start of tournament play. Any player engaging in unbecoming or unsportsmanlike conduct is subject to disqualification. The TC reserves the right to alter the conditions & schedules herein. Distance only devices are permitted.

Carts & Caddies

Any SFC contestant may utilize a cart without limitation or restriction during any round of the Championship at such contestant's expense. Carts not rented or assigned to a particular contestant may be available to spectators and others at the discretion of Haggin Oaks at such person's expense, but no assurance of such availability is made by the SFC. Those who seek a cart to gallery or otherwise see the tournament should contact the course pro shop for cart availability prior to arriving at the course. Players may carry their own bag or provide their own caddie. Caddies represent the player and therefore must follow the Championship dress and rules of conduct.
